Florida
When we were in california, Lukas was saying how much fun it was but then rather innocently asked if we could go to the beach sometime when it was actually hot. So I said sure…. That’s what my work schedule is all about! Flexibility and I’m committed to making the most of this time not working much! So we penciled a Florida trip in for the first week of summer. I picked the first week because we were already rather booked with vacation, Camp, and camps. Plus Mike was on call so it was a good chance to getaway without him needing to use up more vacation time. He was going to be super busy that week anyway and we wouldn’t miss much fun time with him then either. Turned out to be a week of nice hot weather. We loaded Bailey up with anti nausea meds for her car sickness and hit the road. Mom and dad came up from Joe’s to join us for several days and Joe and his boys also came up for one day. It was really fun hanging out with them too!! We caught a lot of lizards, saw the ocean 3 times per day, went to Matanzas once, dug holes, found sand crabs as well as hermit crabs AND manatees twice!!! We also saw loggerhead sea turtle tracks up and back from the ocean to the dune with a nest of eggs at the top! Everyone got a sunburn although we were trying to be careful, it was just so darn hot. On the way home, we carpooled whrh Grandma and Pop which made the ride a little easier for me and a lot more fun for them as they got to take turns riding in the new camper. All in all, it was one awesome start to summer!!!! We loved it, our wells for natural beauty and fun were filled to the brims, and we are also so thankful for Mom and Dads love & generosity.
