Pfeiffer family trip
This summer we did a big family vacation with Mike’s side of the family! Everyone was able to join, although we certainly all were missing Mom a bit. The house was equidistant for us all coming from opposite directions, right on the Rappahannok River. We brought our kayaks and they had several plus a paddle board. The weather was hot and the river was calm in our little cove. We also visited Belle Isle State Park which had a nice little beach and easier access to walk right into the water. Most of our time was spent on the water and we quickly learned the value of little kid kayaks as Jayden, Jacob and Caylee could all man them very independently, which was awesome growth to witness! Grayson would have powered one too if it hadn’t been for his broken arm. The kids also spent a ton of time jumping off the dock in a game they created, the dock is on fire. Unfortunately, they all did get stung by at least one jellyfish which was the only major downside of the trip. We played a lot of games - mostly UNO flip, corn hole, and a washer toss game, and we had craft time, family story time and campfires. Plus, we ate loads of delicous food. It was a really good time of reconnecting and also precious cousin time, which everyone loves and appreciates.
