Also, when Chris and Will learned about Nick's love of science experiments, they sent us a care package with all the needed ingredients for glow-in-the-dark DIY slime! All 3 boys had a great time making this concoction. Jacob (and I) added too much water in the last part but other than that it worked just like it was supposed to, we had a good bit of fun and might have learned a thing or two too.

Halloween
We had some fun carving pumpkins, and trick or treating this year. Nicholas carved King Boo from Mario, Jacob (you guessed it) an excavator, and Lukas used a stencil to carve a skull. Everybody got some help from the grown-ups. Nicholas definitely likes pumpkin guts a bit more than Jacob, who prefers to stay clean (unless it's actual dirt, then he doesn't mind getting dirty at all). As usual, a good time was had by all and it is always fun watching their little personalities continue to blossom. For trick or treating, Nick was a ninja, Jacob a monkey and Lukas Percy Jackson from the Riordan book series he recently read. This past weekend, we celebrated once more with a pumpkin smashing session in the driveway where Nick led his brothers and several other boys from the neighborhood in joyfully smashing pumpkins all over the driveway! It was hilarious to watch and actually not that bad to clean up!
