There are moments of quiet and joy though too. For Lukas, he loves all things football and is thrilled to be playing flag for the Steelers. As one of the youngest and smallest on the team, he does not get to play all game long but he seems to enjoy it all the same. He's an offensive and defensive line member for the most part but every kid has a play where he gets the ball and every kid gets play time every game. Assuming he stays in the league til he's 12 like many of the other kids, his ball time will come in future years. The big kids never leave the field during games. What's more, he's learning skills, discipline and sportsmanship and that's pretty neat. Below, he's running to put some pressure on the other team's quarterback!
With the extra busyness of Mike's schedule and because Valerie was in town, Catherine and I decided to make day-trips to Waldorf last weekend to get the cousins together. Pop and Grandma got crabs and we had an afternoon on the back-porch reminiscent of so many weekends past. It was really great catching up with Dory and Valerie and meeting Matt's girlfriend. Watching Ellie walk was the highlight, though! And Nick is undoubtedly the most adoring of all her cousins, she really brings out his sweet-side.

He's continued his obsession with construction vehicles and now draws himself as a construction man, this is definitely his major life goal. But his art is really taking off, getting intricately detailed and with the Pfeiffer gift of gab he likes to explain every detail. In the second photo, you see Jacob and Jo ❤️ his best friend who also wears glasses like him. In nearly every picture that Mrs. G posts on Bloomz, Jacob and Jo are together.
