New Deck

"Daddy and Pop are building me a new deck" -- LFP

Well, it's been a long work in progress but we are finally finished and it looks fantastic!  The guys were relentless with their hard work and we could not be more thankful and pleased with the product! 

Step 1 - Demolition of the old deck

Many thanks go out to the demo team - Matt Shindel, Mark Sprenkle, Josh and Jake Walters, Dave Bletchertas, Paul and Jeannette Pfeiffer, and Danny and Ellen Estevez!

Step 2 - Treated Lumber, infrastructure



I love 84 Lumber.

Cute butt.

I love that he's almost always smiling. Even when he's working like a dog in the freezing cold.

Paul just couldn't stay away :)! And, we didn't mind his meticulous help with cutting these stairs one bit.

Step 3 - Trex Composite decking

Also, let us not forget, when viewing these pictures, that the blizzard of 2013 came this week.  Ok well, it wasn't a blizzard, it was more like a dusting (but that was no thanks to Mother Nature and all thanks to the power of prayer!)  It was below 40 all week, except for the weekend of pavers. 

Step 4 - Laying pavers on the lower deck

Shoveling rock all day is harder than it looks!

Let's also notice the invisible helper here, the Wincovitch family - who let us ruin, oops I mean use, their driveway all week!  Thank you guys!!!

Accurate estimations suggest 50-60 tons of stuff is in this deck and patio.

 

Yes indeedy, that's LFP helping out.  Getting those guys in order.

Step 5 - Walls, columns, and finishing touches

And finally, a big thank you to my most incredible husband and father for all your hard work!  I mean, without your free labor we would've never been able to afford such a gorgeous outdoor space.  No, but seriously, that is true.  And it's even truer that you guys are amazing, and this work is a true testament to that.
