Nicks birthday

Nicholas turned 8! Wow it’s been an incredible journey and parenting this boy has been such an amazing adventure. We’re so thankful Nick is part of our family. He’s energetic and creative, some may even say wild. Life is never boring with this kid around! He’s impulsive, loves to take risks, and be the center of attention. But he’s also thoughtful, and can be very compassionate when it comes to things he understands need to be protected. Nick is great at sketching and drawing, he’s an avid ninja / becoming a parkour master, and loves to fish, climb trees and build fires and forts. We think he might be musically talented too, as he can belt some great lines during dinnertime with bravado, but he’s not ready to actually admit or try that out in any formal settings. He says he wants to learn guitar. He’s got a grand imagination, great mastery of vocabulary beyond his years and he wonders and worries regularly about existential things. This is all beautiful and challenging, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. To celebrate this special boy we had two separate days - one where he got boxing gloves and bag, and more fishing supplies from Grandma and Pop, where we enjoyed lemon cake and another with his 2 best friends, Aiden and Jack, who had pizza, icecream cones, spice cake cupcakes and a sleepover.
