Spring break, part 2

Wednesday we enjoyed the Wright Brothers Memorial, got some great exercise and appreciated another day much warmer than had been predicted!!

Back at the beach house we enjoyed the ocean breezy and warm!

We also had fun relaxing inside, and even did a little school work too.  We migrated our bedtime reading ritual to fireside in a king bed which was a fun upgrade! And did lots of scootering too.

Thursday and Friday were downright chilly and while we made the best of them, we also decided to head home a bit early.

All in all, this was a great vacation, very relaxing and a time for recharging and reconnecting for Mike and I.  We are thankful for being 1A and thus fully vaccinated. So for the first time in a year spoiled ourselves completely by going out to eat almost everyday and tried to really enjoy / be thankful and not take that privilege for granted.

On the one hand, it didn’t feel quite like Holy Week due to being out of town and our usual church routines, but on the other hand it was absolutely a time of reflection and thankfulness for Gods presence in our lives. Spring always feels spiritual to me, making it easier to see God at work with signs of rebirth and renewal all around us. But then the power of the ocean and the strong winds/storm we had also demonstrated this; as our holes, pits and castles were washed away and the beach transformed overnight. The earth and the beauty of the beach exemplify Gods power and majesty, reminding us we can all be made new again in Christ each day. His promises abound.

Bye bye beach!!

Happy Easter!!!
