Ricketts Glen - Part 1 - Camping Fun

This year we went camping at Ricketts Glen for our summer vacation! For those of you who don't know, Ricketts Glen is a large state park in north central PA.  Mike had gone camping there as a child and has really fond memories so it's been on the list for a while now as a good place to go.  We left Sunday and got in before dinner, set up camp and built a fire and just hung out at the campsite all night.  It was awesome.  The forecast had been great so we were really optimistic about our week of camping but, unfortunately, it rained from about 0200 on the first night.  So we woke up to a wet campsite and weren't entirely sure how to entertain 3 little kids.  In addition, we don't have a map, like an old school paper map, and we didn't have cell service on top of the mountain.  So we had to drive down to do our google search and come up with some indoor options!  We decided on Clyde's Reptiland, which did NOT disappoint!  It was a fun zoo with lots of neat and some scary stuff.

Back at the campsite, there were tons of great laughs.  Of course, almost every other minute we were telling the boys to be quiet and feeling a little worried that our camper neighbors might not have appreciated the shouts!  On the other hand, the Pfeiffer boys were like a greeting committee for the campground, literally saying "HI" to every single passerby.  We also had frequent visitors by some ducks and chipmunks which were fun.  And next time you see us, you'll have to ask us to tell you the "I'm a mad man" story, which is depicted in the next picture with Nick dancing and singing.   Another of my favorites is definitely the little guy and his head lamp...!
