As Lukas races towards four, he's into all kinds of fun new things! We're also busy trying to make the most of his last summer (God willing) of being an only child. It's been fun for us all!
He's going to be in the "4's" class at Derry this year, so he's started working on writing his letters.
Here he is cooking again, this time we were making a delicious corn-zucchini soufflé and this is the part where he's blending the egg whites to stiff peaks, he stopped about every thirty seconds for ten minutes straight to check and see if they were ready or not!
Here he is next to our garden, which has been flourishing this year, with his prized pumpkin. There's only one pumpkin, the garden was too small and I think the deer are eating the buds from over the fence (it's only about three feet tall.) Lukas has helped me with the garden from the very beginning, when we germinated the seedlings inside back in April. Now, we've got more jalapenos and tomatoes than we can keep up with and a small crop of green peppers and zucchini as well! I am thrilled that Lukas seems to have inherited the Estevez green thumb!!
Here he is at Church for the "blessing of the backpacks" -- too cute! :)
Here are some of our pictures from our annual trip to Lake Tobias!
Here's a pic of his latest penmanship, courtesy of Aunt Jess
Learning to climb trees...
... And Roller-skate...
He also has a regular schedule of chores (feed Ruby and clear your plate from the table after meals) and is becoming quite the great helper for Daddy with a variety of chores, like chopping wood and fixing things around the house (drilling as seen here)
