Pfeiffer Christmas 2013

We're thankful to have celebrated multiple times this year with both sides of the family.  There are so many pictures, however, I've decided to break it down into two separate blog posts!  The festivities began with Matt & Jennie's arrival the weekend before Christmas, where we jam packed an immediate family holiday, the whole Pfeiffer event and a birthday dinner into four days of family time.  It was glorious!

December 21, 2013: Pfeiffer family gathering:

Once again, Grandpa proves more nimble than those decades younger and is first to get on the ground with his buddy Lukas:
I zoomed in on this one across the chaos and just love the expressions I caught :)
 Oooooo!
Thank you Great Grandma and Grandpa for such an awesome remote control car!!

Kate made PJ's for everyone to wear next Black Friday!

The "kids" really enjoyed that remote controlled car - notice here there is a ramp built by Brian and Uncle Larry
 Who's the biggest kid ;-) ??
 Yummy.

December 22, 2013: Pfeiffer family Christmas exchange:
Our immediate family gathering was a bit more tame, but just as fun and full of love and laughter!

Nice sewing job Grandpa!

Christmas Eve 2013
Mike, Lukas and I headed over to Calvary UMC to enjoy a children's Christmas service. It was well done, as usual, by Pastor Ron.  Funny story from the service.  Pastor Ron had the nativity characters off to the side and during the sermon, where all the children (including Lukas) were sitting on the altar, he told the Christmas story and asked questions (ie, who was in the field, 'the shepherd's'), when a child would raise their hand and answer correctly he'd let them pick the character they'd correctly named and bring it to the Manger scene.  On our way home from church, Lukas said, "I'm sad because he didn't pick me" and we had to explain that Pastor Ron chose the big kids who raised their hands and we had to encourage him to raise his hand the next time if he knew the answer!  We just loved that our big boy knew the story and followed the sermon!!

Christmas Day 2013
Mike's first stint as a "doctor's husband" on Christmas ;)
it was only fair since I had mine last year!
Sorry we don't have many pictures from this day - guess we were having too much fun to remember to take pictures!
