Summer Vacation

This year we planned a family summer vacation to a midway point between central PA and NC, well before COVID was even a consideration.  Mike found the perfect house for us all in Woodstock, Virginia, and we made reservations and then forgot about it.  Given the pandemic, it worked out perfectly, because we really didn't see another soul other than all the Pfeiffer families and it was splendid!  The house sits on 7-bends state park in VA, on, windy riverfront property.  The summer heat in the mid-90's each day didn't seem to bother us since we were almost always in the shade or in the water.  Lukas and Keira learned to kayak independently and everybody got free rides on the back with Aunt Jess or Aunt Mary!

So many crayfish!!

Grandpa made homemade copper squirt guns for all the kids!!

Jess made sure Mary got to have some fun with her hairstyling skills! Chad took the kids geocaching!

The big boys rowed all the way up to the dam! And the next day, Mike took Nick and I took Keira up there, although we didn't get quite as close.  Then Keira paddled the whole way back!!

This trip was just what the doctor ordered for each and every one of us!  It was a great time of bonding, resting and enjoying the great outdoors.  We are all so thankful for the opportunity and one another!
