Can you tell he’s not even looking at me or the camera because he’s so into preschool!? Sheesh! I never expected that little pang of sadness when I realized my baby had vanished, but there it was.
Another fun first - Nicholas had his first day of Karate!
We have been trying a number of new things with Nick because he’s been having some anxiety that is affecting things at home and when we are out, and we want to help him through it in every way we can. So we though the discipline and physicality of karate might help! So far, Sensei King, who coached his first class has won a lot of points in both our books! When he was timid, she brought out an invisibility cloak to help him adjust!! And then they did their first exercise, after learning the bow of course, which was to be bent down on bended knees with feet flat on the floor and then jump up like a frog to capture a dragonfly. He loved it and was very engaged after that. He learned the proper way to punch, kick and chop and seemed to be very proficient at each of them LOL! He was attentive to the teachers and good at the skills so all in all it was a fun first day. We will definitely continue it for the next month (Sundays at 4) and then see if he wants to continue. I also liked how they really focus on discipline, attention and respect!
As usual, we find ourselves grateful and blessed and looking forward to the the coming year of growth and development for the boys and our family.
Much Love!
