Spring Break - DC

This year we decided to travel during Spring Break to Washington DC for our family vacation.  It has been a long time since either of us were there to sight-see and the kids had never been.  We began with a trip to the National Zoo and Pop and Grandma met us there!  It was a great day.  The panda put on a real show, tumbling down the hill for us!

We did a ton of walking and really saw the city!  We also took the free red bus around from monument to monument.

Scoopy trucks at work, everywhere we go!

The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial was one of our favorite parts.  All of his famous quotes really made an impact, especially with so much divisive news lately.

"If we are to have peach on earth, our loyalties must become ecumenical rather than sectional. Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective.  Georgia, 1967

The boys really loved this litter art.
They also loved the hall of human origins.  In these pictures, they're particularly interested in the Neanderthal's private parts ;)

What a great trip! Love these guys!!!
