Busy days

Things have admittedly been pretty busy around here.  Mary had to travel 3 times in the past month for work.  This won't be a typical thing but with the new job she really needed to learn some new material and had to travel for that education.  It was hard on everyone - Mary missing her babies, the kids missing their momma and Mike having to do quite a bit of single-dad'ing it.  We all made it through but are thankful it's over now!  Of course, Mary's still 6+ months pregnant too... oh, and we're building a new house. So you could say we have our plates full.  Thankfully, it's all good stuff so we are having fun with it and trying to focus on each other whenever we have down time.  I definitely have not had as much time for fun things like blogging, though.  So, here goes a quick attempt to get "caught up."

Still can't keep this guy from climbing....

Kind of all of a sudden, Nicholas has acquired an intense hunger for books.  He will have you read the same book over and over again.  He has about five favorites that we all (including Luke) mostly know by heart now.  It's great.  He usually comes over to you, turns around, scootches backwards and plops himself down into your lap with the book of his choice.  In these two pics, however, he's doing some independent study:
Before I left for Boston, Lukas had I had a breakfast date at (his choice) Panera.  Here's a cute one where he was describing to me about how he thought he heard a bear growl.  And he wondered if the bear was getting an everything bagel too and looking for a table ;) haha.  That boy and his imagination!  The next pic is one I took from my hotel room a few days later for Lukas.  Everyday while we would facetime, he would ask to see Jacob and know how he was doing.  He really likes talking directly to my anterior abdominal wall - so not being able to do that (after prayers usually before bed) was a bummer.  He wanted me to face the phone to my belly though so he could see how Jacob seemed to be, which was cute but weird to actually show my belly to the phone.  Anyways, I sent Luke this shot to hold him over til he got to hang with his littlest brother a little later ;)

"He eats anything" also includes acorns (pictured here), mulch, erasers, pencils, dirt by the handful.  He also loves to lick windows and doors...!

It's true for both my boys now, Mommy's accessories are great play toys!!
